Chemical peels improve hyperpigmentation, fine lines & wrinkles, uneven texture and other skin imperfections. At Byzance, we use both light and medium depth chemical peels to achieve a great deal of improvement in your skin. When you come here as a client, we will determine what course of treatment is right for you based on your skin type and goals.

Procedures may vary depending on the type of peel. When the chemical solution is applied to the face, sensations include a mild stinging or tingling which is temporary and lasts 3-5 minutes until the peel self neutralizes or has been neutralized by neutralizer

Normal peel would be about 20-30 Minutes, but individual treatments differ in time as it depends on the combination of procedures performed.

We recommend a series of 3-6 treatments. Chemical peels can be done every 3- 4 weeks until the desired results are achieved. After that, peels can be done 3 monthly for maintenance.

It depends on the strength of the peel. Immediately after treatment, the skin may be red and tight and peeling can last anywhere from 3-5 days. Be sure to be using a gentle cleanser, and sunscreen following a peel and avoid strenuous activity for 2-3 days prior.To avoid hyperpigmentation, it is important to stay out of the sun while skin peels. Picking or peeling your skin is prohibited as it can lead to scarring. Topical prescriptions can be continued 3-5 days after your peel.

A chemical peel helps to improve the appearance of the skin. The success of a chemical peel is not judged on the amount of peeling that occurs. Regardless of the degree of peeling, your skin will be sloughing off at an accelerated rate. This results in an improvement in tone, texture and fine lines & wrinkles as well as uneven pigment.

2-3 days before your treatment, you should stop using topical prescriptions, Retin-A, Tazorac, BHA’s & AHA’s or benzoyl peroxide. Any cosmetic facial treatments including laser, fillers or surgery should be completely resolved and healed before having a chemical peel.Waxing or threading of facial hair should not be done atleast one week before planned procedure

• Patients with active cold sores, herpes complex or warts in the treated area
• Wounded, sunburned or excessively sensitive skin
• Recent chemotherapy or radiation therapy
• Allergies to Aspirin
• Patients pregnant or breastfeeding
• Patients with vitiligo
• Patients with a history of autoimmune disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, multiple sclerosis etc.)

Post Procedure care after chemical peeling:

• Avoid the Sun for one week and use sunscreen regularly
• Avoid scratching , picking or manually peeling off the skin as it is very sensitive
• Use hydrating moisturizer to keep skin well hydrated as advised by doctor.
• Drink plenty of water
• Avoid hot shower baths, hot tubs and saunas for 48 hours
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours
• Use your skin care products and make up as advised by the doctor
• Waxing , tweezing and depilation can be done after 7 days or as advised by doctor
• Pat dry skin . Don’t rub the face towel against skin
• Change pillow cases, bedsheets, use clean face towel, clean mobile phones.
