Open pores
Pores are tiny holes in the skin that allow sweat and oil to come out of your body. You probably know this, but it's important to remember that pores aren't bad. They are actually helpful for regulating body temperature.
So what is bad? Enlarged pores, or open pores. These are caused by a build-up of dead skin cells and oil on the surface of the skin. This buildup can block your pores, which can lead to bigger problems like acne or even cystic acne (the kind of acne that causes the most pain).
In addition to clogged pores, there's also inflammation and active acne. You see, when a pore gets clogged with dirt or bacteria, it can become inflamed—like when you get a pimple. If this happens often enough, it can cause permanent damage to your skin and make new pimples harder to treat than they would be otherwise!
